Health Sciences Team Science & Leadership Program

Overview

The Senior Vice Chancellor and Deans of the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Health Sciences (SHS) seek applications for the Health Sciences Team Science and Leadership Program. The overall goal of this program is to create, mentor, and support mid-career scholars from SHS to lead high impact inter-professional teams that address society’s most pressing health-related challenges.

Awards of $150,000 across two years will support the creation of teams of scholars comprising faculty from at least three of the SHS (Dental, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health).

Request for Proposal

Projects should propose a compelling approach for addressing scientific or health challenges requiring broad expertise from across the health sciences.

The program will specifically seek collaborations that may lead to submissions of team science R01s, U01s, program project grants, center grants, or other large-scale collaborative proposals. We encourage projects addressing specific NIH priorities, NOSIs, or RFAs.

Using the Powered by PInCh® Submission Platform

CTSI uses the Powered by PInCh® grant submission platform to collect and review all pilot project submissions. If applicants have not previously used this system, they should be aware that they will be required to create a new project before they are able to upload their PDF submission. Project creation should only take a few minutes and asks applicants to register their project in the system by providing the following information:

  • A title for their project (50-character limit)
  • A short description (200-character limit) of the project
  • A brief project summary (500-word limit) that should match the abstract and scope of work provided in the Letter of Intent

These fields are used primarily for internal reference and can be edited after the project has been registered.

If you have any questions while using the system or encounter any errors while submitting, please contact Aleks Zivic, Pilot Funding Core Administrator at abz17@pitt.edu.
